Congratulations to Alton Apples and Matt Orchard on your appointment to Sergeant at the MCFD. This is a brand new appointed position that is intended serve as a stepping stone and better prepare our future operational leaders in the department. After completing a thorough written examination and sitting in front of an interview board, Alton and Matt were recommended by the Deputy Chiefs and Chief of Department. Their appointments will last the remainder of the year.
Alton started with our Explorer Post over 6 years ago. He is a consistent top responder at Station 2 and works as an EMT with AMR in Syracuse. Matt joined our department in 2014. He is also a top responder at Station 2 and works as an EMT with AMR. It is simply coincidental that their last names are Apples and Orchard. Congratulations men, outstanding achievement.
