Station 3 Response Area

At approximately 2230 hours, the volunteers were alerted to a smoke condition in a residence on Peppermill Lane. As Battalion 2 [Chief Hoosock] was responding to this alarm, a call for a serious motor vehicle collision came in on Henry Clay Boulevard. Initial reports indicated a head-on collision occured on Henry Clay Blvd. near the Norstar Apartments. Battalion 2 units were advised to start for the MVC first, while Battalion 1 units responded to the smoke condition on Peppermill Lane. Crews worked for twenty-five minutes to free the passenger of a vehicle. CPR was done the entire time by MCFD personnel during the extrication. The patient was transported to an area hospital by NOVA Ambulance, where she was subsequently pronounced dead. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.
