5-9-2020 // Signal 99 - Clay Station 1 Area

This morning at 09:02 hrs, crews from Stations 2 and 1 were activated for a reported house fire spreading to a vehicle in Clay’s Fire District. Clay Car 1 had visual on the smoke from approximately a mile and a half out and declared a Signal 99 immediately upon arrival.

Engine 21 [Lt. MacPherson] arrived first, securing a water source and stretching a line to the “Bravo” side of the structure to extinguish the gas-fed fire from the exterior. Ladder 1 [Lt. Josh Hildreth] threw ladders to the residence and once the bulk of the fire was knocked down outside, 21’s crew entered and isolated the remainder of the fire to the attic space.
