10-05-2023 // Quick Response stops Garage Fire
Late Wednesday night, Moyers Corners was alerted by the Onondaga County 911 Center for a reported Garage fire at the Kimbrook Apartments off Theodolite Drive, in the Station 1 response area.
Engine 11 [Lt Bailey] and Car 2 [D/C Bailey] marked enroute shortly after dispatch, and while responding received an update from a State Trooper, indicating a moderate smoke condition from one of the detached garage buildings.
Engine 11 arrived and quickly gained entry to the garage, and extinguished a moderately sized fire. Engine 12 [Lt Hildreth], Truck 2 [Lt Carroll], and Car 4 [D/C Beverly] assisted with ensuring the fire was out, and checking nearby garage units to ensure the fire did not spread.
The fire department was assisted by the New York State Police, Onondaga County Fire Investigation Unit, and Moyers Corners Fire Police.
There were no injuries to any civilian or fire department personnel, and the cause is under investigation.
